is it o.k. for a ''simple'' wash, in between detailing sessions (every 6 mos), to use a wash,( i.e. Turtle Wax "Finish 2001,Concentrate Car wash with Shine Enhansers'') that does not combine a wax
as opposed to a wash that also ''waxes''? thanks for your insight. |

lois,
See my response to other post. We've gone over these two topics before. Use the search function to find the old discussions. In a nutshell: skip the wash-n-wax in 1 formulas. Get yourself some Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo and try that. Its results should be light years ahead of what you will get with the infomercial type products. When you are done washing with Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo, you may want to go over the car with Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #9 Swirl remover, then Mirror Glaze #7 Show Car Glaze, then finally wax with either Mirror Glaze #26 or Gold Class liquid. After "in-between" washes where you are not detailing the car, use Mirror Glaze #34 after washing. When it becomes hard to wipe off it is time to polish and re-wax. As for technique and other fine points, see previous posts in the archives via the search function. Hope this helps...Lee |
