Has anybody dealt with this bronze or copper colored pillar cover on S class. It really looks ugly that I'm thinking of having it painted (comments if it is paintable)It's a little bit scracthedd up and does not match the body color(dunno why mercedes just did not have it the same color as the body). Any inputs would be appreciated.

If you are talking about the W140 then I believe that metal is the same annodized aluminum as much of the rest of the trim. When new, it was black, it gets lighter in color as it ages. Try some Flitz or Meguiar's metal polish for starters. See how much oxidation and crud you get off with that. Let me know how that goes and we can take it from there.
