My car has lost its "new car smell". I had the windows and roof open A LOT last summer and have noticed that the car just doesn't smell new anymore.

Any good products for this.

Thanks

Noah,
It depends what you define as "new" smell. Some of the things I usually recommend to help revitalize the interior would be to

A) get new floor mats (probably not needed given the age of your car)

B) clean and condition the leather with a top quality product. If you are doing it mostly for sensory appeal then pick whatever smells best to you. (Lexol, Meguiars, Lederbalsam, are all great)

C) use a small amount of Meguiar's Final Inspection/Quick Detailer #34 on the wood with a very soft cloth. You can even use it on some of the plastic to help with the smell. It doesn't seem to do as much for the plastic as Vinylex or the Meguiar's Vinyl/Plastic treatment but it does smell pretty good.

D) general vacuuming and cleaning of all the mats/carpet and under the back seat to make sure there is nothing in there that could be contributing to the problem.

I suppose if you wanted the exact new-car smell you could go to your local dealership and get them to give you some plastic seat covers that have just recently been torn off new cars that have come on the lot. (they make look at you funny when you ask them that...)

Hope this helps...Lee

I personally like the way Lexol Leather Conditioner makes my car smell. It smell's "leathery" for lack of a better term. And as a side benefit, it's great for the leather seats.
