What do swirl marks look like? Are they like little scratches that are all over the place and you can see them everywhere? Are they circular? What causes them?
I am trying to see if any of the cloths I have used have caused swirl marks, but I don't see much. All I can see are maybe some tiny lines if I look at the finish at just the right angle. |

Bingo! those are swirl marks. They usually are in a circular motion because that is how we wipe..."wax on wax off" you get the picture
On dark paint (black in particular) those marks you see are highly visible from any angle. |

Some people refer to swirl marks as "spyder webs" in the paint. They are faint scratches that are usually circular and can be best seen in direct sunlight.
If you use the search function in the right hand corner of this page and search for the work "swirl mark" you will get more info. ------------------ Bill Wood - Webmaster MercedesShop.com, LLC |
