cracked front lower bumper...

sorry..i didnt know where else to place this so i thought detailing might be the most relevant...i think i might have hit a high curb in the past, but the problem now is that the front bumper assmebly of my 89 300e is cracked at the bottom part...i dont want to replace the bumper, because that will run about 450, and for that price i might as well buy an amg bumper...my question is, is there anyway to repair it...i mean, it is not cracked all over, but just the bottom part, which basically looks like a vent...the piece of plastic is about 1.5 inches high...should i simply glue it back together with some strong adhesive, or should i have it professionally done...there is this place here called "chip-tech" that does pastic bumper repair..what is the best suggestion? thanks..

Though this really isn't my area I might suggest taking it to the local repair specialist and getting a quote. Another option might be to submit a parts inquiry and we will check if we have any used bumpers/trim available. I don't know what the price would be but it should be significantly less than new.

You may have resolved the bumper problem by now. However, I had the same problem on my 300e--the bottom plastic part of the bumper cracked. I had a local body shop weld it together for $275. They did an excellent job and I cannot find the any evidence of a crack.
