Hi, I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the eyebrows for either 190E or 300E euroheadlights. I've looked on the Erebuni.net site and they are ugly but I think that's becuase they aren't painted:

Anyway, I want to get this maybe, but do I have to paint the chrome grille to match it well or does it look good with the chrome. Also, concerning the painted grille, does it look good on a dark blue car? I've only seen it on black 300Es and they are nice. Thanks and sorry for the long post! =)

After a few moments of looking at the picture, the image of a racoon, with those dark circles around the eyes, came to mind.

Yeah, I know the picture looks bad but I was talking about the look after painting them.

Here's a page from the 190 revolution that has them... they look pretty cool

Phil:

I think you'll be pleased with the results if you paint your grille "black" and the grille frame the same color "blue" as your car. This is in-line with the AMG monochromatic look. Remember, I had mine painted by Wheel Techniques. Maybe we can hook up at the Blue Sky and you can see for yourself how my grille turned out. Contact me at Brian16V@hotmail.com.

My frank opinion is that these are akin to the two-hole headlight covers that some put on their VWs to simulate the euro-look. Not only is there no functional improvement, but this so-called cosmetic measure actually DECREASES light output! This may not be as drastic on the Benz "eyebrows" but you will still lose some light, it seems. The stock look is great I think, especially if you have the euro headlamps (as in pics above, but w/o the eyebrows). By the way, Phil, I like your idea of the reader's rides page for 124s! I'll send in some pics!

Nick,

Actually Eye-brow won't decrease light output at all, unless you have sealed beam. Euro-Spec headlights aim the light beam DOWN, instead of UP of the sealed beam, so cover up the top of headlight doesn't have any effects on the light output.

I have been trying to find a pair of eye-brows for my 400SE, but with no luck....

Bill,

You are ABSOLUTELY right. Well, it's purely cosmetic purpose, I guess. As for the eye-brows, I wouldn't hesitate to make a bigger one(at least twice the side of that showed on the E-Class), to make it apparent and still won't have any impact on the headlights at all.

But, I will leave it the LAST thing I will put on my car though....

Bill,

Nothing is too old when it comes to Mercedes...I won't call it OLD, but Classics. You need to have "Class" to appreciate one...

Anyways, the eye-brow is very thin(like those GTS headlight covers), therefore, even if it does affect the drag coefficient, it's not noticable. Only thing I can think of is that the eye-brows are not correctly attached to the headlight lenses, and fly off when you are cruising at 120mph..
