I have 280 E Automatic Transmision, 1985, and I have problem with the Ignition Coil,
it flow some fluid, black in color and looks like wax, and the coil body hot after more and less 1 hour driving. The coil was the original for 280 E, so could anyone help me what's wrong with it
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

* Could someone tell me what the function of the switch over the wiper switch on 190 E,4 doors 2.6 make of 1993,with "accel" and "deccel" print on the switch

Your coil is melting. The black stuff is the internal dielectric. There is a short in one of the windings. Replace ASAP. The switch you mention is for the cruise control.

Jeff, thanks for the your information about my 190 E cruise control, I get the car as second hand and I don't have the manual book, and now the cruise control is out of order, can it be fixed or must be replace with one new unit ?

About the 280 E coil,if you don,t mind , can you tell me more specific about the short, it came from the positive or negative side, because the melted coil was a new coil I've already replace from the old coil that was melted and broken too, or how to trace the short.
Anyway thanks for your attention and I,m waiting for your reply.
