Hello, in the UK, there seems to be a lack of selection of cleaning/detailing stuff on sale.
My dad is going to New York in about a month and i'm going to ask him to bring me back a selection of cloths and cleaing fluids.
Can anyone recommend a good range to go for.
My car has quite a few swirl marks, but the only liquid I can find sold over here seems to be abrasive and I don't like using it.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Oliver

Oliver,
Have your father pick up Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #9 Swirl Remover, Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #7 Polish, Gold Class Wax, and either Quick Detailer spray or Slick Stuff.

A bar of detailing clay would also be good though I don't really like the Meguiar's version. California Gold or Clay Magic are good though.

Hope this helps...Lee

Thanks lee,

I'll print this out and get him to bring these back for me. Are there any clothes you recommend, or is anything 100% cotton OK?

Many thanks

Oliver

Of course Meguiars sells good detailing cloths. You can use most any cloth as long as it is truly 100% cotton which includes the stitching. Try burn testing the edge of a potential rag (or purchase one to test to avoid angry storekeepers). If the burn region is blackened it is cotton, if it balls up at all then there are synthetic fibers so steer clear. You can also make your own. Just purchase a large amount of terry fabric, cut to size, then sew edges with 100% cotton thread. Let me know if you can't find anything I'll see what can be found.

Hope this helps...Lee
