i just picked up a 1977 230C (german specs)eveything is original on this car. i want to keep it that way. the body and interior are in excellent condition for the exception of a few rust spots that aren't bad yet but i am sure with being in Germany will get bad. I would like to get rid of them, but when i do it i want to keep the original color. it is a Mustard yellow with the olive green interior. how would be the best way to go about this? Should i take it to a body shop and have them repaint it or should i just have them touch paint.
One other question, when i am looking for someone to paint it who or what should I look for to find out if they are any good or not. Please advise. i want to bring this back to the states as a classic. |

If you don't know the area then the best place to start is to talk with the local dealerships. They usually have either in-house body/paintshops or have someone they know/trust whom they outsource to.
As far as recommendations on the rust...very hard to say without seeing it in person. Talk to the bodyshop people once you find a good place. Hope this helps...Lee |
