Here is the problem: When I clean my leather seats and apply the conditioner, the conditioner leaves a white residue in the tiny perforations in the seats (clk with ortho seat). I have tried everything I can think of to get the residue out, but nothing really works.
The leather is the dark charcoal color and the white residue looks terrible. I asked the detailer at the MB shop where I bought the car and he had no idea's. He says to avoid the areas with the perforations. ??? This is the area that sees the most wear (it is the entire middle portion of the upper and lower seats) I want to take proper care of the interior and have it look as new as possible as long as possible. Anyone solved this one yet ? |

I don't know if this is crude but I used a clean soft tooth brash to get this out. If I understand corectly you have condishiner filling the litle holes and staying there.
Tooth brash worked, but..... I have beije color leather and may be it will still be visible on ur black apholstery.. Dmitry 90' 300CE |

I have perforated leather seats in my 500E, and use Lexol cleaner & then their preservative, every time. I have no such problem, so I suggest (if you're using Lexol; you didn't state what brand you use)you follow their instructions To The Letter. Perhaps you're leaving some residue behind when you do the cleaning? I suggest you clean 'em up with the cleaner EXACTLY as they advise, dry them very thoroughly then let them breath & dry a bit on their own. When you're done they should look pretty flat in color, and with no residue as you describe. If there's residue, clean again.
Now, condition as they advise; simply spray the conditioner on a sponge and wipe it around. I keep wiping it on until it stops immediately being absorbed into the surface. Then wipe them down with a towel and get any excess off. You're done! Good luck. ------------------ Best regards, Michael '92 500E '88 300TE |

Try Leatherique. I just applied on my W124 E500 and my E420. Both are black and provided nothing but the best ... :-)
Stuff works a treat. The E420 leather was hard and dry and leatherique softened it right up ! Web site is leatherique.com |

I also used Leatherique for the first time on the black steering wheel on my 98 BMW 740. It was looking pretty badly, but after applying leatherique rejuvenator oil, leaving outside all day and then following up with their cleaner, it looks brand new. It was really a test for me anyway before I apply it to my new car. I like the ideas behind the Leatherique products, TOTALLY natural, and no chemicals like Lexol has.

The leatherique is great stuff, but a simpler solution is how you apply the leather care (I assume you are using the white stuff they sell at the dealers) I always apply to the non perferated areas first, and work it in good. Then with my cloth still really damp, but not thick with the leather care I work on the area with the little holes. There is not gobs of the leather care product to get into the holes, but there is enough all over the cloth to work into the area.
