Anyone know why a fresh wax job attracts dust like there's no tomorrow? Is it an electrostatic thing, or is it just the greasy nature of wax?

Anyone found a way to get around this problem besides washing the car again?

thanks,
anthony

I too am in the same predicament, Black car, cleaned it a few days ago, and its covered in dust. Only solution I can think of is one of those dust brushes you find.

I just would hate to scratch the paint using one of those, but am unsure if they will scratch it.

I love mine. It works great. I have a small one for the interior. The cotton fibers are coated in a type of wax that makes it stick like a magnet.

I use either Meguiar's Quick Detailer, Final Inspection or Wax Shop Slick Stuff.
Any of these will do the trick and they make your wax last longer if you use them after each wash as well.

Thanks, I've got some Quick Detailer in my garage. I'll have to give that a shot the next time around.

p.s. Anyone know anything about wiping down fresh wax with water? I was reading the back of a bottle of Zymol over the summer, and in the instructions it said that misting the paint, followed by a dry cloth was supposed to bring out even more of a shine. (..?)

Yes, it works.
It's the same as doing a spit shine on your shoes.
My experience wiht Zymol is that it can be somewhat hazy if you don't mist it with water and buff with a dry cloth.
It takes only a very fine mist...don't use too much.
