Windsheild Cracks and Miti-VAC
I found a new use for the Miti-Vac, fixing windshield cracks. I bought a windsheild repair kit from the parts store followed the instructions of applying resin, covering with plastic and pressing lightly from inside (opens crack) to allow resin into crack. It kind of worked But what does work is to follow the crack with slightly larger piece of duct tape, adhering 1/2 the tape width along the crack. Apply resin along crack - adhere duct tape to other side of crack leaving a small hump over crack line - seal bottom completely (end of crack). insert Miti-Vac tip above top of crack, seal and pump. The vacum pulls the resin into crack. Pull tip out and press hump down over crack and let set for 15 minutes. Remove duct tape and ultra-violet (or sunlight) cure per manufactures instructions.
Another great use for the Miti-Vac

How did this go? Is the crack still visible, or diminished a lot? Have a picture?
I wonder if you can do this with a hand vacuum pump for brake bleeding...
