Cleaning the seats... shining the wheels...

Has anyone come across a workable way to clean up
the seats (409 and similar products don't do much)
and bring some of the old spark back to the wheels?
My MB could look so much better in both departments...
Not too long ago I had read about some almost
miraculous solution reputed to clean old vynil upholstery
really well that I unfortunately did not save... I've been
trying to locate that article, but it seems nowhere to be
found. The frustration... oh boy, the frustration...

If the seats are really dirty use "Tuff Stuff" cleaner and then cover the seats with VinylX
The tuff stuff will clean the seats and the VinylX will preserve them.
All this assumming MB Tex seats, cloth or leather are completely different

Wheels? I use only P21S wheel cleaner, Remember you wheels are Painted so whatever you use on your cars body paint is how you should treat the wheels. To recondition them, IE paint, them Griots has the spray paint and clear coat in a can.

Mr. Clean MagicEraser works really well on a lot of stuff. I was very impressed with it (for the seats).
On the wheels the only thing I have found that works well is good ole' elbow grease.

Actually they are stained. The dirt was removed with many applications
of 409... and elbow grease. It is the stains I would like to get rid of...
They are definitely not cloth, and certainly not leather... I think it is
some sort of vynil... What do you mean by "Tex seats?"

OK, thanks for the suggestion, I'll get some P21S wheel cleaner...

Mercedes-Benz calls their vinyl set material MB-Tex.

I used meguires heavy duty vinyl cleaner

Great product- simply amazing how 20 years of accumulated dirt and ground in grim came off the seats.
As for the wheels, I suggest a strong cleaning followed by repainting!! Many wheel cleaners will attack the paint or etch it.

I think the proper spelling of this is " Vinylex" due to the fact that the company which makes the recommeded leather conditioner makes it.. that product is " lexol "...
If you can not clean it consider painting it... do a search for ' marhyde' under my name...

Do a search in the "Detailing" forum and you will probably find more ideas and answers.
