Red face Plastic Dash cover for my 84300td

I got a plastic dash cover (covering the old cracks) on my dash board. This came with the car, however it was never attached. Should it be attached? I thought about using 2 side tape. Has any one had one of these on for a few years. Will it need to be replace in a year or two? This could explain why its just laying on the dash.

Thanks

Mrhaney

They are generally a tad over $100 bucks. I tried to pull one off a car at the wrecking yard and it was siliconed on. The removal attempt was unsuccessful to say the least. That is way down my list of things to get, but I do need one as my dash couldn't be cracked much worse.

The manufacturers of the covers recommend they be stuck down with silicone sealant. I put one on two years ago, and it looks as good now as original. The trick is to apply the sealant to the edges only, so that the center can expand and contract freely...otherwise it will crack. Do a search and you should be able to find detailed instructions on how to install. I know I had posted my installation procedure.

Good luck!
