adhesive remover

I'm trying to clean off of the trunk lid the leftover adhesive which held the spoiler in place, so I can reattach it onto a clean surface. I couldn't find 3M brand in the autoparts store, & the clerk recommended bug & tar remover. I decided to ask the guys here before I purchased. Also, what about 91% alcohol to remove the leftover adhesive? Will these take the paint along? Thanks.

Give it a shot of WD-40, otherwise, I'd look for the Trim Adhesive Remover

Dont use alcohol. Its more of a cleaner, than an adhesive remover. But I agree with MTI.

There is also a product called "GOOF OFF" that works well to remove the glue!
