Where to get European Door Lock Pins????

Hi all!

car being discussed - 2005 w203 230 Sport Sedan

Any idea where to get European door lock pins...I HATE the US spec golf T pin. (along with the US cup holder center column - YUCK!) I do not want a chrome, or aluminum pin, just that black /dark gray dome....

I purchased a set off of Ebay, but they were a solid molded part, that were self tapping. I am looking for an over molded part that has a threaded steel sleeve inside to hold the lock rod, not feeling the self tappers....I can not imagine that is OEM, my Euro w123 has these style pins.

Thank You
Jake

The mercedes door pins are self tapping. If you want metal threaded, you'll need to buy aftermarket.

Really - OEm is self tapping...thats disapointing...as I intalled them only for them to pull of with the slightest tug. One in the rear popped off to have the lock rod jam up against the inner door skin upon unlock. So I removed them and re installed the ugly T pin units. I'll have to mic the bore out and see if they are the right size to allow for a thread bite or if they are oversized not allowing enough engagement.

The Golf T is an over molded part

No I did not overtighten and strip them

Thanks
Jake

My euro has the euro pins and they sit flush with the door when locked. In order to open the door you have to pull the door handle this pops the lock. No need to pull the pin.

Yal - what car and what year? My old w123 has these flush pins, and that is what I want on my w203 - not the T pin stye

Then I'll get rid of the stupid non ergonomic cup holder....

Thanks

Try your local MB dealer for the flush door lock caps.

That was my first step - they told me that they do not have access to the European catalogs and thus can not get me such parts...however they have been able to get any part i have needed for my gray market w123....so i cant figure out the logic....

perhaps I'll try again

Its an 1988 230E W124. I took the door out two days ago to replace the door check strap. The pins are connected to a thin metal rod. It looks like they are pushed in not screwed. You should see some of the panic looks I get from people when they realise they can't pull the pin to open the door

Search for seller qpidsmom on eBay.

BTW, no need to remove knob to remove door lining with these knobs.
