What do you guys use to clean your rims with?

I just got a 560SEL and the rims which are stock seem to have stuck on dirt. I already tried cleaning them with solutions and by pressure wash but most of the dirt in the holes will not come off. What can i do?? Im thinking if use something toooo abrasive that it will indeed take the dirt off but then leave me with faded looking wheels

P21S wheel cleaner. DON'T use anything else. Your cleaning painted wheels. So treat them like the body of the car.
Find it locally or do a google search.

P21S, I agree. Used to use Simple Green, but after P21S, WOW! I get a lot of brake dust on the front wheels of my '88 560, but that stuff works well.

A little gas will get the hard stuff out. Then sand very well and repaint.

Well, I finally got my bottle of PS21S that I ordered over the internet. I followed the directions to a T and I must say that I have had the same results with Armor All wheel cleaner. I was not impressed with it at all. I even had a rag and scrubbed the wheels good.

It must be time to have my wheels resurfaced. The brake dust is baked in too much (comes from being lazy and not cleaning them regularly).

I am so ashamed!

I used a pressure washer while using the formula. I got great results. At first I scrubbed by hand then all the left over crap iacant get out by hand i usd a pressure washer Dont use too much piercing pressure or yoy might just put a hole in your tire or damage thepaint finish of the rims

when my wheels are real soiled, and the brake dust is baked on and won't come off with a spray cleaner like P-21 or Simple Green, I clay the wheels then polish and wax.

"Awesome" ....can be purchased at Dollar Tree stores. Also superb for stain removal and is a great engine degreaser!! $1.00 per bottle!!!!!

Using clay for nooks and crannies? the holes on the traditional 15 hole Mercedes OEM wheels are no problem, and the rim lip is not a problem either.

But if you had two or three piece rims with forty mouting bolts, thats a tough wheel to clean where the bolts are - I've never cleaned those style wheels so don't know.

Clay does a great job on wheels, the best cleaner for difficult jobs. But follow woth polish and wax.

I've kind of gotten away from Simple Green and use Michelin brand wheel cleaner - no real basis just a personal thing.
