Where do I find Euro Lights for a '93 300D

Can anyone tell me where I might find Euro Lights...The light assembly looks like crap...so I should just replace it with something that will give it a more sophisticated look. would also like to know what wheels( preferably chrome Mercedes) would interchange and give me the look I've mentioned.....Thanks

1) You can get cheap aftermarket Euro lights (TYC, Depo, etc) on eBay for probably $250-$300. They're OK but not quite as nice as the OE Bosch or Hella. Problem is, real Bosch or Hella lights will cost you about $500/pair these days. Contact Paul at PUMA for the latest pricing on the Hella stuff (www.puma-access.com or (440) 498-0638 ).

2) For OE wheels, most wheels from a 202, 203, 208, 210, 211, and 170 chassis will fit (basically most C, E, CLK, SLK class). Look for 16 or 17 inch diameter, in 7.0 or 7.5 inch wide, offset (ET) 37-42 (approx). I have 17", 7-spoke W203 Sport wheels on my diesel, and before that I had the 16", 6-spoke W202 Sport wheels. I also had some 7-spoke, 16" CLK wheels with snow tires. All fit perfectly. Some photos are below:

headlight wipers

Hey Dave,

Nice cars. Did you take the headlight wiper assembly off yourself when you replaced with euros on your white benz.... is it is possible to leave it on...? What should one do with the holes...?

Thanks.

Woops, forgot about the wiper question. You have several options:

1) Delete the wipers entirely. For a cleaner look, you can buy blank filler panels (with no holes) and paint them, as I did on the blue car... or leave the original panels there with holes, as I did on the white car. The panels are cheap, under $10 each, plus paint.

2) Buy the proper wiper motors and wiper arm to fit the Euro headlights. This will cost $200+ for new parts and they are very hard to locate used. You'll also need the 94/95 style filler panel, since the shaft will protrude in a different spot. I got a complete set for the blue car but haven't installed them yet.

3) It's possible to cobble the old wipers on, but they look silly (IMO) on Euro lights and will only wipe a small part of the lens. I don't recommend this option but a few people have done this. I think you need to swap the motors left to right to make them fit.

For something a little different, if you want awesome high beams and never use fog lights, you can get the 500E Euro lights instead of the regular Euros... these have a pencil-beam driving light in place of the fogs that (on the 500E) comes on with the high beams. (Some extra wiring is required if you want this to be automatic, if you don't mind a manual trigger it's plug & play.) The downside is you lose your fog lights (unless you add them in the lower bumper, as the 500E has) and also they cost a small fortune since they must be ordered from Mercedes in Germany via Speed-Autoteile.com (about $700 USD shipped, no bulbs included.) That's what I have on my blue car and also my E500. Some more photos are located here
