Online or other MB colour code database?

Hi - I'm looking to change the colour of my W123 wagon as I'm changing nearly all the panels for new originals..

The question is - how do I find out the Dark Blue metallic colour code from MB? Or is there somewhere online I could try?

I have tried searching the usual forum threads with no joy.

thanks!

My 124 is Nautical Blue, Is that possibly the dark blue you are looking for?
I've had a good wander over the colour codes on your original post, and there's a really interesting choice on offer! Is there anywhere a place to see the colours as examples?

Or... can you post or PM me a pic of your blue?

ANYONE ELSE WHO KNOWS THE COLOUR CODE OF YOU BLUE - Could you do me a HUUUUGE favour and post a pic and code of your blue?!

As a background....I am having a £6,000 resto on my wagon (UK) and have the opportunity to change the colour to a dark blue. This decision needs to be made in the next 7 days or so... sooo I'm cap in hand to the forum for examples with codes! Dark blues win - but which one? Answers on a postcard... ;-)

cheers for any help or posts with codes in advance!

Hi Joe, My Blue '87 is all dirty in the shop with the head off and I am travelling for the weekend so its impossible to take apic for you.
What you need is a paint chips book. Go to a nearby body and paint shop, ask them if you can peruse their paint chips (sample) book.
You might have to lead them into thinking you are planning to have them paint the car. DuPont is popular here and there's Sikkens and Glasurit, the latter one may have changed their name. Anyhow all these paint companies make similar colors. Take the MB code list with you when you go to see what they have as equivalents on file.
I've been seeing a bright blue on this year's Suburu Foresters. Has anyone else seen them? It's a real bright metallic blue.
Say, Joey Did you ever swap the differential in your 230TE?
Cheers,
Reid

Hey yea I have a chap in southern UK who is about to swap out my 3.6x diff for a 2.88 for the 230TE... good memory sir!

Hmm, I will try and see what the local paint shops have - there are two I know of, but I'm not holding out much hope ;-)

Id have to weigh in here and say that if you are going to have your wagon re-finished, and you want a darker blue, go with DB904- Midnight Blue.

My previous 300DT was this color, and it is simply stunning. In certain lighting it appears black, in direct sunlight it appears a rich, creamy, deep, dark Navy Blue. It is a color that lends it self to highly satisfying reflective qualities, and appears quite handsome. I must say, that if you do go with this color, you should have pin-stripes added in a tan. They lend a very subtle contrast to the
Midnight Blue paint, and also slim the car in appearance from all perspectives. Seems more often than not W123 cars were sold with pin-stripes here in the U.S., I love them.

At any rate, I hope you have fun in choosing a color apropreate to your liking, and PLEASE post pics of the car when finished!
