As everyone else has said, NEVER use soap designed for dishes. Use a liquid CAR wash. I have tried them all (Turtle, Meguiars, Blue Coral, Mothers, etc.) and the best I have ever used is the Eagle 1. It is hard to find in some areas. I order it directly from Eagle 1 in gallon jugs. THE best.
My 2 cents.

Thought I would share some humour, but I know a person in our old neighborhood use to use Cascade liquid. One day he ran out, so decided to use some cascade powder!!!! Lets just say those Cascade crystals made a nice set of swirlmarks over his then 4 year old BMW 318. This was about 6-8 years ago.
Lets say he bought a bottle of swirl remover and buffed his entire car. I am sorry things are specialized for a reason. Never use Transmission oil for your engine, or even 2-cycle engine oil for your car. Just like different soaps are different, so is everything else. Good Luck. My recommendation: 1.) Meguiar's Gold Glass Car Wash and Shampoo Alt: Meguiar's Professional Car Wash 2.) PS21 Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleaner (hard to find) Alt: Meguiar's Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner 3.) 3M Imperial Hand Glaze (lil tougher then Meguiar's #7) Alt: Meguiar's Professional #7 Show Car Glaze 4.) Zymbol Wax (NOT THE STUFF MADE BY TURTLE WAX in US) Alt: Meguiar's Medallion Premium Paint Protection (Prefer over Professional Hi-Tech Yellow Wax because it uses silicones) Use Meguiar's Final Inspection inbetween washes. For Wheels, I use Meguiar's Instant Wheel Cleaner. The Wesley's Wheel Cleaner is much more abbrasive, and I used it a couple times to get the old baked brake dust off. For Tires, I use to use Meguiar's Gold Glass High Endurance Kit, but now like Wet Tire or Tire Wet's new high gloss color tints. It adds a nice effect to the tires, and doesn't harm the wheels. For the Interior I really LOVE Lexol Leather Shampoo and Conditioner (they are seperates.) Just my suggestion, seems to work great on MB finishes. I have gone through testing of almost every material, and ended up here. Good luck.
