what is the best tire shine out there?

I bought the tires shine in a pack of 4 from costco. They are OK. You have to let it set for a few though. Sometimes the shine stays and other times it doesnt. Whats the best brand you guys use

I put my vote in for Black Magic. That stuff lasts for weeks if it doesn't rain. It also doesn't get thrown all over the side of the car if you don't put too much excess shine on it. I have been using it for years and have tried the foam products, but I like the Black Magic the best.

While it might not be the "shiniest", the BEST product for your tires (appearance and health) is to use some 3M dry-type silicone spray. It will give your tires a new appearance (not necessarily shiny) and will absorb into the rubber, promoting longevity. Meguiars tire shine gel is good if you want a shiny appearance but one negative of it is that it tends to get whipped off the tire and onto your nice clean paint job when you start driving. I noticed that after trying it on my Ferrari which is white and I then noticed a lot of black "specks" right behind the tires on the fenders after I drove the car. Since then, I stick with 3M silicone only.

For the "wet look" use Black Opal
For the "new tire matte look" use 303

303 is the best on many other deminsions.

The black specks you are referring to are called in the trade "sling".

Some of Meguiar's products "sling". Endurance gel is one of the worst.

Insane Tire shine doesn't.

If you want your tires to look like you just got them from the store, Just spray then with peroxide, 50 cents a pint.

I use a detailers favorite...Royal Shine (I think its called; I fill up a spray bottle every time I visit my wholesaler friend)...stupid expensive at like $50+ for 5 gallon bucket (maybe its not so expensive after all) but it is awesome and last for weeks and weeks thru washings and rains.

Of course, put it on heavy and it slings off like any other product.

Meguires

I use the Meguires High Endurance (purple gel), but have not had the fling problem some have mentioned here. The only reason that it would fly off is due to the fact the there is to much to begin with. After I put it on, I usually go over it with a seperate cloth to take up any excess that might sit in the lettering or grooves on the side of the tire. As far as duration, this stuff easily seems to last the longest of all.

Concerning the silicone sprays - arent silicones in general bad for rubber/vinyl surfaces ?

Meguiars NXT Insane Shine Tire Shine produces the best shine I have ever gotten from a tire shine product. To achieve a rich black tire color, apply Meguiars insane tire cleaner before applying the shine. The tire cleaner removes roadgrime, brake dust, and other contaminants that dull a tire from black to brown.
