Where to buy clay *by itself*?
Hello, all,
I just finished the yearly claying/polishing/waxing of the C230. (No, it's not the only time the car gets waxed; I do it every 3 months or so.) It makes a big difference in the smoothness of the paint, and now the little gold beast gleams like a brand-new car. My Q is this: Where can I buy just the clay bar itself? I know the Mother's kit you can get at Autozone is only 15.00. But I've used up the clay, and still have a bottle and a half of the detailing spray lubricant and two full bottles of the cleaner wax that comes in the kit. I don't have room to store them, don't have anyone to give them to, and would feel silly throwing them out. Would a detail shop sell me some, or are there online outlets where I could find the clay alone? I've done a search, here and elsewhere, and all I find is the kits. Thanks!

ZainoBros.com, Performance Products, AutoAnything ... On-line
I haven't found it in stores except for the kits either, just on-line.

I have used all of the clays on the market, and the best one is the Zaino Brothers clay bar.
It is sold by itself. Meguiars also sells clay by itself, just not in stores. You might have to buy it online or call their 1-800 number.

If not mistaken, I saw the Meguiar clay bar being sold in the automotive section of a local drug store, next to Turtle Wax and "The Miracle Blade"

Per a friend, who is very "Anal", and did tons of investigation on detailing. I trust him, he just goes WAY overboard researching things.
There is only 2 or 3 actual manufacturers of clay bar in the world. Don't quote me on this, but a high end detailer in the area gave a class and mentioned there are actually several grades. The color indicates the grit, yes it is mildy (very) abrasive.
