When I had tint removed from windows the shop used a steamer like the one being sold on TV to clean grout, etc.
They started at the top and as the tinting film released they sprayed a soapy mixture and pulled the film off the window.

Smile Window tint removal

I purchased a perfessional vapor steamer for my detail shop. cut through tint like butter. The safe alternative to nasty chemicals.

yes because windex is ammonia based ( the home use cleaner ) the automotive one won't work. use windex or regular ammonia.

I scrape and peel with a single edge razor scraper...then clean with windex or some cleaner with amonia in it....

Strip the tint which will leave the adhesive behind. Saturate the glass with Simple Green and then cover the glass with clear plastic. The adhesive will become gooey in very short order. Remove the plastic and scrape it with a razor blade. Finally clean and prep with a 50/50 mix of alcohol/water. This will also stop those nasty streaking winders too!!

Good Luck

You need amonia, a razor, and a couple of hours
