Leatherique - w210 leather
Any use Leatherique to maintain the leather in their w210? If so what was your process and what were your results?

Well, I have a W202 and have heard a lot of good things about Leatherique. I have been meaning to give it a try and will use it next time I clean out the insdie of my car.
I have not been too impressed by Lexol, as the cleaner does not really seem to do a whole lot more than tap water would do in the way of removing dirt.

Follow the instructions that come with Leatherique. Apply the rejuvenator oil liberally and be sure to allow enough time in the sun to allow it to penetrate the leather. If your leather is dirty use a soft toothbrush with the Pristine Clean to work the dirt out.

I found Leatherique to be a superior product on the leather of my late 300CE however, when I tried it on my W210 E430, I found it did NOTHING. It turns out the leather is coated and as a result, the product just sat there.
After researching a bit, I found a suggestion in another MB forum to use a solution of Woolite and water to clean then Griot's Leather Care to protect. I've done this twice and am very pleased with the results on my java "coated" leather. |

I am also a big fan of Griots Leather care and Leather rejuvenator.

Leatherique did a super job on my W124s tan leather. You HAVE to do it several times I'd say to see the best results. I must have done the process 10 times over 2 years myself.
Though the owner of the company , George P. , I've heard can be a complete jerk if you call with problems or questions. |

I totally agree. The basic product is great, but when I emailed to relay much less than expected results with the crack filler even though procedures were followed to the absolute letter, his reply was, "Then replace the seats"! If anyone out there is considering using the crack filler I would advise against it. It requires stripping the leather and then re-dying, which in itself isn't the problem, even though it is extremely time-comsuming. In fact, the result is absolutely fantastic-looking.....for about 4-5 days, when all of the cracks reappear.

I don't need to put my money in a jerk's pockets (I already do every time I pay my taxes ). His is not the only product out there; there are dozens of other good leather treatment products.
