Leather seat covers
Seems like the front seats are often the first thing to go, cosmetically.
Sheepskins are nice... but for hot places, they can absorb sweat and attract dirt. Has anyone tried recovering your seats with real leather? $1000 front and back, for 100% leather seems like it might be a worthwhile investment, for a vehicle that is great mechanically, body, paint, dashboard, etc. Anyone have any photos of leather seat covers in your Benz? I don't need them in my current car... but I'm already thirsting for more Benzes, which is an affliction that I can see has reached pandemic proportions on this forum. Here's the place that charges $1000: trimcar Know of any better deals, for quality work? |

Ra, I recovered my front driver seat and it is perfect. I didn't want to take any chances so through my local MB club I found an MB interior specialist and he installed MB OEM leather. The leather source is something you might want to consider.

I was just reading some website that pointed out...
MB has no patent on leather. As long as you find a source of high qrade material, the person building and fitting the seats is probably the biggest variable, in getting a great job. I'd love to see a photo of your seat and the general cost, if you care to reveal it? |

GAHH is the company for this. It is excellent quality. About $1400 for two seat covers for a 230SL they advertise.

BTW, if you order it from Adsitco, it might actually be from GAHH at a bargain. It is possible.

Seems like the best plan is to take a Mexican vacation.
$500 for all leather, INCLUDING labor is very attractive. |

I like the TRIMCAR option better. Saving $500 and getting dysentry in Mexico doesn't really seem worth it to me.

Discount?!
Maybe the Forum Owner can setup something with this company that would allow us members to get 50% off? I'm sure there would be a lot of orders then!!

Just completed both front and back in my 280SEL. These people have the orginal materials,(leather and MB Tex)Mercedes specs and do an excellent job. They do the sewing for many of those that sell interiors at a much higher price. IMHO, the main problem with fixing your 20 year old mercedes seats is that you end up with nicer 20 year old mercedes seats but they are still 20 year old mercedes seats. Not for everybody, but I bought a pair of matching grey leather seats out of a 98 BMW 750iL. So much more comfortable and adjustable than any Mercedes seat I've experienced. Cost me $250 and they are in great shape.
