Any wheel weights that wont damage wheel finish

When I got my car, I had the wheels rebalanced. The paint was chiped where the old weights were installed. I would like to get my wheels refinished but I would like to find more suitable weights before doing so. Any recomendations.

John, inside wheel weights won't affect the "shiny" side of the wheels.

Use the tape weights they stick on the inside. The shop may say they cannot balance them as well using them but that is BS. My shop does a fine job and mine are rock steady to well over 100.

Like 'e said.....but cover them with tape or a coating of clear Polyurethane paint to stop the weather attacking the mounting foam to wheel interface.

The wheel weight inside is true, In alot of instances you can get away with it, just like you can get away with a static balance. The reason people say it dosent work is that the wheel balancer actually does a 2 plane balance, inside surface and outside surface. Ignoring this becomes a compromise.

Are MB OEM weights still available for the older 1988 vintage SL wheels. Anyone have part numbers?
