metal polish

I just wanted to let everyone know that I had really I mean really good success with a polish called Met-All, it is seriously amazing!!! I dont want to start a brand war or anything but just that it is an amazing polish in my mind, I went out and bought every polish on the shelf for aluminum chrome and what not, I tested them all and met all is just amazing, it is kinda hard to find though I have to order it from online aircraft supply stores. If you feel adventerous order a can I promise you wont be unsatisfied with the results!:silly:

Yes I shall post some pics... It will take me afew days unfortunately with the holidays and what not, but yes I started using it on the valve cover and then I decided to pull the cover then I do not have the linkage hoses and injectors in the way, I tried it on a fuel line and that came out like a mirror, and the valve cover had never been touched by the owner so you can get an dea of what the 30 yr old cover looked like. I also tested it on the lid of the fuel canister and that is amazing, I do not know how it works on the trim I ahve not tried it yet because I ran out of the stuff early on in the polishing game, that is why I went and spent a bunch o money on polish and bought everybrand I could and decided none even came close to the met all in my opinion so I ordered a 9.5lb can of it lol that will keep me busy. But the second best thing I found to polish my valve cover so far was old fashioned rubbing compound. I will post photos once I get my polish and can work on it a lil bit longer, so by the end of the week I will try to post some photos.

Check out my engine on the following thread on thread #4. Do you think I should go ahead with polishing it?

What do you know about "Met-All polish P100 Ultra Polish?" Do you know if anyone has used this on their paint and what the result was? Thanks

doppx006 12-25-2005 08:29 PM

I have not used any of the other met all products so I am unfamiliar with there results, I do not have any before pictures but the cover was dark grap brownish and a very rough surface, just picture 30 years of oxidation and that is what I had, I starte polishing the cover and that was great but kinda slow so I went and washed it some eagle one aluminum rim cleaner, basically it is acid, it foamed white and ate the majority of the crud off, then it was dull but not os dirty now I am just going wango tango with the polishing. Once I get the polish in this week, and I get a chance to slave on some parts with it I will post afew pics.
