Last October, when the weather in The Swamp finally turned fairly dry, I went waxed with Meguiar's new NXT. The stuff went on and buffed up easily. Durability seemed to be only fair.

Well, it's been 3 months, so I dug the bottle out, shook it up thoroughly . . . and got a shock.

The wax has turned to water!

Not completely. But where before it was a thick cream, as liquid wax ought to be (and as the Gold Class always was no matter how long it sat), the NXT has turned into cottage cheese in a thin fluid. It spread on okay, dried to a haze, and buffed off fine, leaving a slippery finish and no streaks on my gold paint.

Is this stuff still safe to use? Anybody else have this experience?

Ive seen I guess moisture in the bottles of wax before but if it was stored in a really warm place I guess it would do what it did.

Im sure its still good.

You need to shake it really hard and use it. Mine did the same think but I shook it and used it on my Benz and the stuff was still amazing.

It's fine. The solvents and the wax have simply seperated. Shake it real nice, you'll be fine.

If you go to auto parts store, you will see many waxes separated: very thin liquid on top. These include TurtleWax Platinum, Mothers FX, Mothers Reflections.

I guess similar thing happened to your NXT. I would ask Meguiars by email.

-- I took out the bottle of NXT in preparation for the spring waxing session, and shook the bottle up. I mean I gave it the old heaving to and fro for quite a while.

When I squeezed the contents out onto the applicator pad, it was thoroughly mixed and came out fine. I had to keep vigorously agitating the bottle from time to time, or the stuff that came out onto the pad had little bubbles and water in it, but on the whole it worked out great.

I guess NXT is just different from Gold Class as far as mixing it up goes.

They're no different, I've had the liquid experience with Gold Class as well. Just shake them before using them.
