Dyed my carpets
Dyed the carpets last night using Walmart Ritz liquid dye, very hot water, rubber gloves, a sponge, and the hot-ass Texas sun as a solar oven. The results are quite acceptable, much better than it was.
Had five different shades of color, down to two now and I can live with that. The price was right, $2.49 and 2.5 hours. I know you get what you pay for, but I don't feel ripped off! Found this method by searching on this forum. Wish I could remember who had posted it...it was buried in a thread on dying sheepskin seat covers. Well, whoever you are....Thanks! It was just that simple. The only thing I would add, is go about 6 shades darker than wanted....this stuff dries to a lighter color than you think it will.
