Seat skin swap.

Got a new used drivers seat out of an 88' 124 in the yard with excelent springs to replace my broken springed one in the 86'. I striped off the leather covers on the 'new' seat and ordered a pro-vinyl repair kit from Leather Magic... should be in about Monday. to fix the drivers bolster tears and other assorted spots that have been damaged over the last two decades.

Anyone have any tips to make the job easier or prevent disaster.

Did you order the pre-mixed vinyl repair color?

Yes. The one we settled on was the one they said was the most common grey from 86'. They said that their color #'s on the web did not corospond to factory codes.
I also got a bottle of the low luster vinyl conditioner and a bottle of the vinyl cleaner.

Excellent, I bought there multiple color mixing kit which is fantastic for grey and black but BLUE was a paint to mix to the right hue:mad: The instuctions are great - you shouldn't have any problems doing a super job. (work slow);)

Did you do your patching with the upolstry on the seat or off?
Since I'm moving it it would be easy to do it either way.

I am begining to get excited about the end results and finaly be rid of that anoying busted spring!

I have gone both ways:D But definately easier to work with the cover off.
