Tire Dressing

Any good recommendations for tire dressing.

I've tried the Zaino stuff, not impressed.
I love their wax, so I thought I'd give it a try.

I've also heard stories to stay away from some as the "chemicals" actually disolve the rubber.

Also, not for the SL. Any good way to touch up the white lettering ??

Have you tried the MIchelin Brand tire shine?

Michelin has three tire and wheel products.

I actually clean my tires with car wash soap and a sponge first. The Michelin tire shine is geared to getting tires to look like new not an artificial wet look.

Also a Zaino fan.

KLK, try 303 Aerospace Protectant. It does a fine job on tires and provides UV protection.

I like No-Touch tire care. No-Touch is the company that makes "Invisible Glass" glass cleaner, which also works great and smells nice. Their tire care stuff is an aerosol that cleans and shines. It lasts a very long time, and it's not too pimpy-shiny. Pretty shiny though. It comes in a red and white can.

Is this like the shiney stuff that dealers put on car tires? I didn't realize it was a protectant.

Tire & Rubber care

I like the products from Griot's Garage. The Rubber Cleaner, Prep and the Rubber/Vinyl dressing are all very effective and pose no hazard to the rubber or vinyl. As far as touching up lettering, I have no idea. I'm sure someone out there does, though.

PS: I've also used the Mequiar's tire stuff with good results.

Ferdman, I use the 303 as a protectant.

Love their Softtop stuff, and did the entire interior of the Escape with their cloth care.

Their regular stuff for plastics though I like as a protectant.
But find as a dressing it runs in the first rain.

I hope not.

I use the Meguiars Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner #40. Gives a less shiny/plasticky look than many other tire dressings.

Auto Magic's SuperDressIt Spray into a sponge, wipes on easy, no oily film, doesn't sling and on hell of a shine.

Meguiar's gold tire dressing always worked well for me. Also tried the Michelin stuff and that's okay but does not last as long as Meguiar's.

What ever happened to good old Carbon Black? Did California determine it causes cancer and had it removed?

I got some of that this weekend and tried it. It looks good. I think I'll keep using that. Thanks for mentioning it.
