soft top plastic

safe way to remove scotch tape residue from the inside of the soft top rear plastic window? I tried PASTIX which does a good job of cleaning, but it won't put a dent in the residue. Scared to try a petroleum based product like acetone or lighter fluid. Any proven method that will not damage the clear plastic?

From an automotive maintenance I have..
Glue: try loosening it by saturating the spot with a cloth soaked with vinegar.
Consult the glue container for solvent instructions. You can remove cement glue by rubbing it with cold cream, peanut butter, or salas oil.

Chewing gum: Freezing the gum with an ice cube and carefully scraping.

Then my friend says:
Goo Gone sold at Home Depot my friend uses it at his Ferrari dealership.
