Question Dash carpet 'goo'

Greetings!
First post here at MercedesShop.com! Very active forum, it appears. That's good!

My question concerns the half dozen or so 'goo' spots left by the .75" square velcro pads placed there by PO to attach a 'dash carpet' to protect from UV. What would you suggest starting with that wouldn't harm the finish on the dash? The dash is in very good condition for a 21 year old car but when I got it in August I just had to get rid of it as I just did not care for the way it looked. It will be garaged most of the time but driven to work periodically on nice days.

Thanks for your replies to this and the many more posts I'll bring to this forum!

Any citrus based cleaner should work. I think the most popular is Goo Gone.

Use 303 Protectant to protect the dash from UV rays.

Thanks for the replies!

I will try the citrus based product but I'm concerned about whether it will disolve thses spots. These glue spots are actually very hard and very stuck to the dash! And now that the outside temperature is getting colder, the goo is very hard!

Fred-
where can I find "303 Protectant"? Thanks

Check at a local boat shop. Boat owners use it on fiberglass hulls. If there aren't any boat shops near you check online.

Goof-Off is the only product that has never failed me.

I also wonder how well one of those Mr Clean Magic Erasers would do in a car.

Sorry for not responding sooner but I've been pre-occupied with the diesel forums lately! But I'm in Dayton! We're practically neighbors.

85 DSEL? It's my license plate number! "Catchy", eh?
