Question Avantgarde Grill

Were do I buy an Anvantgarde grilll for a 1992 W124 sedan. Also how easy are they to install?

you can get them on ebay.... its just an insert.... half a dozen screws if i recall....

they are ok.... painting the existing insert a matte or gloss black looks good, too.

i have the avant garde on the CE.... painted the E's faded gray insert matte black.

Bob, you probably know this already... 94-95 W124 receives a minor face lift including a smaller grill hence slightly different hood... make sure the avantgarde grill will fit whichever hood you have.

I bought a 124 (86-93 version) Avangarde grille insert on eBay for about $65. It sucked It was flimsy and a PITA to install, it was something cobbled up somewhere, Taiwan maybe. it LOOKED all right after some doing but I was po'ed over the need to file metal to be able to mount it.
Then a few months after it was installed a co worker backed into it with a bicycle carrier on the rear of his jeep. That bought me a new OE grille assy and I was so happy to be rid of it.
