oh my beautiful upholstery. help me help it.
Other than the minor wear and the rip in the drivers seat this cars interior is a+. How can I fix this rip and the wear? I can get over the wear but the rip is fairly crucial.

I would say look for a used seat in good shape and put that in. I don,t know if the upholstery is reversable from right to left. If so, it should be easy to find a passenger's seat that you could take the seat covers off of and put them on your seat. It seems that 80% plus of the W123 interiors after 1981 were Palomino.
The photos were not there when I did my reply. I had a 1976 BMW 2002 that had cloth inserts and they were trashed. I took the upholstery off and found a close match to the existing cloth and reupholstered the seats myself. I would start out by trying to google some German automotive upholstery supply places to see if they have the correct cloth. I checked around a bit and found nothing, but did not go to any German sites.

That looks like Euro interior. I like that cloth setup. You might need to get with a custom auto upholstry shop.

Any auto upholstery shop should be able to sew new vinyl on the sides of the fabric. A friend of mine (re-did the foam in my front seats and fixed a tear in the leather) up here in Michigan can do it. It shouldn't cost that much to ship if you want to go that way. His name is Scott Manning and his company is J & M Canvas. His email address is phantomroller (at) hotmail.com
