I don't know about glass, but I deffinately trust the name. I clean Resteraunt hoods, and they are the ONLY brand of stainless polish that actually works. I get it @ Sam's Club (not Wally-world).

A lot of people tell me you can't beat vinegar and newspaper for cleaning windows. I never seem to have any vinegar around my house when I need to clean a window, so I can't vouch for it. I usually just use Windex. It seems to work okay.

Sprayway is very good. No need to have any concerns. I see it in small auto parts stores for around $3.

A lot of people tell me you can't beat vinegar and newspaper for cleaning windows.
I used to be a picture framer, and newspaper and plain water was best. The newspaper cause the ink was a mild abrasive and the plain water because there was nothing left behind to streak. Once you close up the frame, anything left behind stays. I would think vinegar would leave streaks and the composition of newspaper ink has changed drastically since the old days, and I've heard it doesn't work as well, but is still workable. So if you go that route, I'd ditch the vinegar, or only use a pinch. I've used Sprayway and like it. |

Me too. Never tried newspaper and water but the Sprayway was the best. With the picture framing we used lint free paper towels because you didn't want some little piece of lint in between the artwork and the glass.

Bon Ami in the bar form is the best I've ever used, then follow that with Windex and lint free blue paper towels (shop rags).

Window Cleaner
The best window cleaner is a 50/50 mix of 91% rubbing alcohol/water. DO NOT use this on tinted glass, and do not use vinegar on tinted glass as well.

Used some Sprayway this weekend. It worked pretty good, so I concur with the other comments above about it.

I second the Bon Ami ,,, its best for the wax film on the inside. When they test windshields for optical distortion thats what they use.

Since I own a window cleaning company
let me put in my two cents. First, most people who install window tint will tell you to never use Vinegar on the windows. The very best way I have found is to put about a tablespoon of Lemon Joy and one tablespoon of Cascade dishwasher detergent into about one gallon of warm water and mix it together. Apply it on with a sponge and you can rinse it off with a Blue Surgical Huck towel (lint free). I have used this way in my business for years and there are plenty of dead birds that would agree that it is clean.
Also, if you have any tobacco smoke on the glass spray a little bit of Mean Green on the glass and then use the same formula as above. You will see the tar drip off of the glass. It is a perfect degreaser and it will not harm most tints.
