MB leather question
My 92 300E has a leather interior. Does anyone know if the leather is coated with a sealant or anything? I tried using Leatherique on my son's 95 BMW and it just sat on top, never soaking in to the leather at all. I was told that many newer cars have the leather sealed to prevent drying out, but when it finally does you can't do anything for it. Is my 92 MB in this camp?

most leathers are coated. You've got to add heat when going thru the Leatherique process...it won't penetrate otherwise.
I do my heavy duty Leatherique-ing on a hot day during the summer. I basically "steam" the seats with the a plastic back covering the seat/Rejuvinator Oil. Proper technique is essential to get the magic to happen :) |
Phalcon, follow the directions for Leatherique and it will work fine on your 300E leather. Apply the rejuvenator liberally and let your car sit for hours in the sun on a warm/hot day with the windows closed.
