Removing the back of the front seat?

Hello all,

I have a 1987 300D Turbo and I'm trying to remove the back of the driver's seat in order to repair the netting. I found two small phillips head screws on the bottom of the back and have removed them. Does the seat back slide down for removal?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
the tenor man

Yes, it should slide down and then off.

Thanks

I slid it down a bit and then realized that the cover from the front part of the seat was tucked-into the back...I carefully removed that and...the back was off for repair...thanks again for your help!

Now that the driver's side is off, I may remove the passenger side. The headrest motor runs (I can hear it) but the headrest is not "moved" by it....

Simply remove the back plate before removing the headrest.

When this is done, you may switch most of the seat between left/right. This will give you a "new" drivers seat. Gives you another 200k miles before it is worn out.
