Door trim repair

I did a search and didn't find anything so here it goes. Has anyone tried to fix/repair the plastic door trim around the windows. I know it's a problem looking at pictures of other cars on e-bay and here. The plastic has shrunk, withered, cracked, wrinkled, what ever you want to call it. Last night I tries using the wifes hair drier to heat it up in hopes of straightening it out some, but didn't have much luck. Any ideas or has someone found something that works? I'm thinking about using a torch to heat more area faster might do the trick?

First thing I did when I got my 240D was pull all that stuff off and dump it. I've never seen a successful repair for it but I'd also like to know if there is one.

I just replaced mine on my 240D this weekend. They are available form the dealer. While not cheap they fit perfectly. The front doors are easy. The rear doors require you to pull the fixed window. The job is about 1.5 hours for each rear door. Apply a small amount of 3M trim adhesive to each end of the new trim pieces. Helps to hold in place and slow shrinkage.

Thanks,

Zill.

I had no idea they were available from the dealer. What did they cost?
