How do I remove the rear shelf?

Has anyone out there ever removed the rear parcel shelf from a 1987 300D...mine is sun-faded and I would like to re-dye it.

Thanks

I'm guessing it's not too much different from a w126. In a W126 you take out the back seat bottom (using those two clip at the corners), take out the back seat backrest (three bolts, one in the middle, the other two at the corners, all along the bottom). Then you remove the back seat backrest by pulling up on it, and then pull it out. Then the rear shelf should just slide out (well...make sure to unscrew the speakers from it first).
