What was originally in my trunk?

I am trying to search for information as to what was originally supposed to be in my '85 300D trunk. All that I have is a wooden board that covers the spare and plastic fender/wheel well inserts on the sides. Did it have a mat? or carpet? I thought my Dad's old '78 240D had some sort of rubber mat in it. I can't seem to locate anything for my car. If anyone knows where I can find an original replacement (used or new), please let me know.

My '83 240D came with a carpeted mat in the trunk over a cardboard-like cover for the spare tire area. Earlier versions had a rubber mat identical in size and shape to the carpeted one. The 300D's were likely the same, although I'm not sure if any changes were made for their last two years in production. They certainly would not have removed the mats though.

You should have plastic liners on the sides, a stiff board cover for the spare tire, and a gray carpet mat that lies over the "floor".

Give Roy or Phil at Fastlane a call, they can probably find you a used carpet mat.

Yeah, I have that! I guess I should have said what type of carpet/mat was originally in place. Was it carpet, or a rubber mat?

Thanks, I guess...
