I've heard from several (non-professional) sources that a good way to remove minor door dings is to use dry ice. Is this right? What precautions should one take?

I have heard that before, I dont knwo if its true. The dent people I talk to say its not true, which i understand because they wouldnt make money by saying its true even if it was.
But you need to move the ice around! otherwise you will put a freezer burn in the paint. I have also heard they pop back after a while, so the dry ice method isnt very permant or reliable. Once again i have never done it and i dotn know if its true.
