protecting headlights from yellowing - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Hi,

Though Ive had success with the 3M products for polishing headlights after yellowing, it still is an obvious problem. The only vehicle out of 9 that we have that it is not apparent on is my chevy pickup.

So, my question is, given that headlights arent very well protectd from sunlight/uv, etc., what is the best way to protect headlights from yellowing, hazing, cracking, etc. from the sun and whatnot?

Get Euros. All glass, and when they do fog, you can polish them.

not necesssarily the MB crs. Wife's integra is the worst of all...

Hmmm, I am in the same boat as you. The plastic winders in the SL soft top seem to become hazy with age, UV rays, and wear/tear, requiring a replacement.

IIRC someone posted info that Porsche carries a soft window cleaner and protector package. I have not tried this, but it may work for your lights.

speaking of euros though, father's w210 (96) has pretty yellow lights and one occasionally has some moisture... are w210 euro lights glass? fit easily???

It is the best protection against plastic deterioration due to sunlight. Use is on all the plastic in your car and even to protect the varnish on your wood trim from cracking. It's mostly sold at RV dealers but I picked up a bottle last week at the Mercedes dealer while visiting the parts department. Check it out at http://www.303products.com/
