Are you having problems removing the seats, or the leather?

The seat leather comes off pretty easily. Sit on the seat to compress it. There is a track in the bottom of the front and rear which holds a cardboard edge that is stitched on the front and rear of the seat leather. With the seat leather compressed, pull the cardboard tab out of the track in the front and back. Once the leather is free on the bottom, you can pull the leather plus seat pad completely off the seat frame. This can all be done without removing the seat or the seat back. I used this method to sutff extra support into the seat frame. Don't tell anyone but I used pool noodles. Cost me $1.49 per noodle!

great. I'll try that tomorrow. How do I get the panel off the back of the seat? it takes two screws on the bottom but the panel seems to be pressed into the sides of the seats

seat back removal
I had the good fortune of getting a replacement passenger side seat from the previous owner when I bought the w126. I have parted it out for the seat frame, leather, motors etc. so I just checked how I removed the back. Yes, remove three screws at the bottom of the back. It is molded card board that you can put your hands around the molded sides to release its pressure on the sides. It sits tight against the seat back leather. Then pull down about an inch on the card board to slip out the top edge that is tucked into the upper seat back. I hope this helps!
