They did the windshield in my dads F150 a few years ago for that.

Awesome, our company is pretty nice, and I've never made a claim in driving almost 4.5 years....so they owe me a windshield.

+ "The cause of the broken windshield (fill in the blank) was not even asked when I made a claim to have it replaced." = "they owe me a windshield."

We pay them good money, their is nothing wrong with getting a little bit of that money back once in awhile.

I have insurance to use it, if I wasn't going to use it I would just drop the coverage to super basic liability.

Thought I'd report on the new windshield after driving it awhile. Rain doesn't "sparkle" with oncoming headlights, night driving is a pleasure with the euro headlights. I CAN SEE...
Probably the best safety feature I've done, other than brakes. I can't believe how the pitting of the old windshield kinda crept up on me and, worse, that I accepted it as normal.

I got my windshield smashed by a rock falling off a double trailer semi on my way back from the u-pick yard on Tuesday....yesterday Auto Glass Specialists/Safelite (same company) replaced it. They did an awesome job. Cost to me: $100, cost to insurance $268

So I am ahead of my comprehensive insurance now, I've had it only 2 months (just decided to get it after 4 years of not having it) and have only paid about $100ish towards it.....so I win so far...

Its so nice having a new windshield! No old stickers on it, and its CRYSTAL clear, no haze or speckles!! Well worth the $100, thank you truck!

Also, my old one leaked, this one doesn't! Even better!

I'm bummed, but Safelite at $179.95 may make my reservations about a new windshield disappear.
My "kit" arrived yesterday and I plan on using it to polish the inside of my coupe's passenger-side headlight. It has a bit of 'haze'; the driver's side is fine.

I'll let you know. The kit was $29 so no big loss. It's worth a try and since this is not a "pit", it should work.

Reading the fine-print, they seem to disclaim using it for 'pits'. . .

Did they use the Mercedes gasket when they put your windshield in or an aftermarket one? I've heard that the MB gasket is the only one that definitely will not leak.

Insurance coverage varies from state to state, your mileage may vary. I have never felt bad about paying for a new windshield in a car that I drive regularly. It changes the way you see the rest of the world, money well spent.

They reused the one on mine and it still doesn't leak. A new one from them was pretty expensive, so the guy was very careful pulling it off.
