Tips for Cleaning Sand Cast Crinkle Finish Under the hood?
Hi All,
I've searched, but does anyone have tips on cleaning the sand cast parts (crinkle finish type stuff on manifolds, crossover tubes on a 603) under the hood? I want to give the 87 a good once over underneath and the crossover tube is really dirty, among a bunch of other parts! Thanks in advance!

Mothers mag polish and alot of rags. Take the majority of the dirt of with like a degreaser then follow with the mag polish. You can just use the mag polish its self without cleaning the parts first but you will use like the whole can. Go buy your self the mother mini powerball it will make the work so quick, just dont plan on using it on any chrome. If you use the power ball put it in the can spin and then go away from the car and turn the drill on full rpm to get the excess off the ball. that excess will go everywhere in the engine compartment if you dont and its hard hard to remove in some of the places it can get into, dont ask why I know.

oven cleaner?
What about oven Cleaner? It cleans off baked grease in a oven, must be
aluminium parts in their also. It`s something I have thought about for a while. I have a manifold out in the barn, think I`ll give it a try. wear eye protcetion and rubber gloves, the stuff is caustic. If all else fails read the directions, I know it`s not a manly thing to do . Charlie
