I find it hard to believe that the flimsy strips of silver tape along the sills of my 1992 300TE are really 'factory'. If so, how do I replace them as several are torn away and look very ratty? Are there any alternatives from later models? Also, how are the plastic slats in the grill cleaned or treated? They seem to have a soft coating that scratches easily and don't particularly complement the classic grill surround. Thanks for any advice!
