Painting brake calipers
What kind of paint should be used for brake calipers? Do you need high heat paint for this? or will regular paint hold up okay. I've heard people mentioning doing this before, but don't recall hearing what they used.

I used the "special" caliper paint and just regular enamel -Can't see a difference both last a couple years. Here is a link from the BMW world with some pics.

If I end up doing mine, I will use this:

This stuff works great:
http://wheelskin.com/g2_brake_caliper_paint.html Free shipping right now. Ive done black and silver. I just did silver last weekend. I did black four years ago, and held up great. Be sure to really clean the surfaces to be painted. |
Is one of those kits sufficient for one set of calipers or could you do a couple with one of them?
|
one kit, it has about 2 hours of work time, they say 4-6 but I live in 10% humidity, maybe thats why.
Make a really good coat, it is brush on. |
One kit does one car?

ONE KIT does 4 calipers no problem. |
I was wondering if it would stretch far enough to do the calipers on two cars.

Oh, it's not that there's not enough. It's because it doesn't last long enough. Can you mix it a little at a time or something?
