The original 92 300E w124 does not come with cup holders in the center console. I bought those that attach to the side of the doors. My honest opinion is that they are not worth the $$. You have to remove the drink before you open and close the door. A real pain in the you know where.
Can the 92 center console be replaced with a unit that has cup holders? Do the later models have cup holders and if so is there one that will retrofit.
I'm sure that one will sacrifice center console space in doing so.

It sits on the passenger side floor, out of the way. Its not too bad of a reach, but I try not to grab a drink while moving cause it's a bit of a stretch.

It's too big to sit in the console of a w123 and probably a w124. The base is hard plastic which gribs carpet nicely, but will slide on leather, mbtex, dashboard, etc.
