Polishing a hood star
At the pick-n-pull I scored a hood star, although its totally lost its shine. Maybe thats why it was still there. I was thinking of soaking it in coke, which works on a penny, or scrubbing it with some scotch brite pads? What do you all think? What is the finish on these anyway?

Try a pink paste polish called Semi-Chrome; comes in a tube.

Never tried Coke for that purpose. I've had good luck keeping the star gleaming and free of rust pitting by using #0000 steel wool with Flitz or P21S metal polish or similar chrome polish.

I tried the 5 star shine stuff and cant complain. Haven't waxed in about 10 months now and water still beads and rolls off.
